Containment Booms

Home » Environment Protection » Containment Booms

Oil spill containment booms are used:

  • to enclose oil and prevent it from spreading
  • to protect shorelines and other resources
  • to divert oil to other areas where it can be recovered or treated
  • to concentrate oil so that skimmers, sorbents, or in situ burning can be used

INKAS® offers a wide variety of booms that each have different purposes:

  • FOAM FILLED CURTAIN BOOMS
  • FOAM FILLED FENCE BOOMS – HAS LOW STORAGE VOLUME, DUE TO THE USAGE OF FLAT FOAM PANELS AND CAN THEREFORE BE STORED ON PALLETS OR ON REELS.
  • INFLATABLE BOOMS
  • PERMANENT BOOMS
  • INLAND BOOMS – USED FOR LAND, SHALLOW AND CALM WATER WHERE THE WATER LEVEL MAY FLUCTUATE.
  • FIRE RESISTANT BOOMS – CONTAINS OIL WHEN BURNING IS USED AS A CLEANUP TECHNIQUE
  • SORBENT BOOMS – ABSORBS OIL WHILE CONTAINING AT THE SAME TIME. (NOT A PRIMARY TECHNIQUE)
